Men and The Shopping Blues?

I was talking to a friend the other day, and was surprised when she told me that her husband has a mini panic attack when she takes him on shopping trips with her, especially to the mall. I've been married for a year, and I guess I forgot that most men would rather be anywhere but shopping with their spouses.

In a way I think I'm spoiled. My man is so secure in his sexuality that he will gladly offer up fashion advice, and actually enjoys going through the isles with me and picking out new outfits as the seasons change. Though he's a very manly man (into guns, knives, fighting styles etc.) he also enjoys matching colors and keeping me up to speed with the current trends.

I guess us both being fairly young has something to do with it, but I don't ever remember my brother, or boys that I grew up around liking to spend any more than 20 minutes in any store. Most men don't even use dressing rooms! They know their size, find some clothes that fit that criteria.... or really the closest thing they happen to run into upon entrance that isn't horrible, and run to the register with it.

I don't know if it's an insecurity thing, or fear of being seen by peers, but I'm pretty sure I've found one of the only non-gay ones that will shop with me 'til the end, and not just wait around in the womens ligerie section thinking I'll come out wearing something hot.
